Fees
Please note that these fee and retainer amounts are for the typical case and were in effect at the time this site was last modified. The actual fee and retainer will be discussed at our initial meeting and may vary from the examples used above. Don’t forget, you may be eligible for discounts when you mention how you found out about the firm at our first meeting.
Retainers:
We think you will appreciate our low retainers (generally ranging from $1200 for an uncontested divorce to $1800 for the typical contested divorce).
Standard Fees:
Our standard hourly rate for full legal services in a contested case is $160/hour; however, you can receive an hourly rate discount to $140/hour by telling us how you found out about the firm. If you and your spouse or other party can still compromise and work together, we offer a rate of $125/hour in uncontested cases.
Do-It-Yourself Advice:
Our hourly rate for limited representation or unbundled legal services is the same as the rate for full legal services ($160/hour); however, we do not discount this fee because it is more difficult to help and advise clients when we are not involved in a case from beginning to end. Once again, please note that the fee amounts specified were for typical cases at the time this site was last modified. The actual fee and retainer will be discussed at our initial meeting and may vary from the examples used above.
Child Support:
Child support usually must be calculated according to Montana Child Support Enforcement Division's Child Support Guidelines. This is a complicated calculation. Save the headaches and have us calculate it for you for the flat price of $100.
